THE CREATIVE PROCESS MAKES IT OR BREAKS IT

All though my unique selection of urban subject matter, point of view, and ability to find interesting details in even the most mundane urban settings is part of how I tell my story, I also wanted to find a printing technique that added just as unique of a chapter to the final piece. It was important for me to find a way to allow light to naturally flow through each photograph, illuminating even the most gritty work. This led me to the final printing and mounting technique.

Hard acrylic is used in various colors as a an actual “canvas”.  Each photograph is printed twice. The first is a regular print on photo-archived paper, and is adhered to the back of the acrylic canvas. A second print is developed on a vinyl material which is adhered to the front of the acrylic. This double printing and mounting technique creates a 3-D effect, and also allows light to carry through the acrylic, even in the most dimly lit environment, truly bringing each photograph to life.
